The name of the new feature of Google Maps Immersive View for routes and as the name suggests, it provides a sort of immersive digital preview of routes. This is an option that uses artificial intelligence to create a realistic video representation of not a single location, but a range of areas. That is, it provides a kind of preview of the route; whether by car, on foot or by bicycle, it doesn’t matter.
The trick is to combine Street View with billions of aerial photographs, which together allow the system to create a kind of digital model of the world, or rather certain areas of the world, in the form of an immersive virtual movie experience. After entering the starting point and the destination, the route created by Google Maps includes intersections, parking lots, pedestrian crossings, and we even get information about the weather, the changing road conditions and air quality.
To activate the function, all you have to do is click on the corresponding window of Google Maps.
