A Boeing 737 plane had to make an emergency landing in South Africa on Sunday after one of its landing gear flew off the plane during takeoff. In the video recording below, you can already see the full flight of FlySafair landing on the runway of OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg.
Reports and video from The New York Post show that a huge crash preceded the plane’s emergency landing. The landing gear and the right wing partially collapsed in the incident.
No one was injured in the technical failure incident, thanks to ground control staff who noticed the missing landing gear immediately after the Cape Town-bound plane took off. The passengers were eventually flown to Cape Town by a spare plane, a few hours after the original time.

Boeing declined to comment on the South African incident and referred the paper to FlySafair, which also did not respond to requests for comment.
As we previously reported, according to one of the company’s engineers, almost half a thousand Boeing Dreamliner machines may have been incorrectly assembled because they were incompletely or improperly assembled. The engineer claims that he saw with his own eyes that the workers jumped over the parts to fit them in place, and in other places they left larger gaps than necessary. An investigation has been launched into the case, Boeing denies the accusations. And the newer 737 Max aircraft placed him under a no-fly zone twice the Federal Aviation Administration because it “raises two quality problems that can dramatically reduce the lifespan of aircraft.”
