In recent years, one-euro housing projects have been very popular, with which villages try to protect themselves against depopulation. Now a small village in France, Saint-Amand-Montrond, has joined the initiative.

In recent years, we have come across homes advertised for one euro in many countries, and we even found a property in Croatia for HUF 50 a few months ago.

Now a small village in France, Saint-Amand-Montrond, has also joined the initiative and offers for sale a two-story house for one euro, which has everything you need: a kitchen, a bathroom and a living room on the ground floor, and two bedrooms and a bathroom on the upper floor. is located. It is a house with a garden, so a yard and a garage await those who move in, according to Drive’s report.

Similar to the projects in Italy, serious renovations must be carried out on the property here, as it has been unoccupied for 12 years. According to the village management, the expected cost of the renovations is 128,000 euros, approximately 50 million forints, but the new resident does not have to raise this amount alone.

Mayor François Blondieau told the French newspaper Ouest France that the new resident will receive “significant renovation subsidies”.

Those interested have until June 15 to bid on the offer, and they will be able to view the house in person from May 15. The final contract is expected to be signed by the future buyer in January 2025.

There are also several medieval castles and churches in the village, and there is even a spa center called Balnéor.
