In Politico’s survey, he wondered what global problems the outgoing MEPs see facing Europe. This revealed that the participating legislators fear the rise of right-wing politics more than global warming and the Russian-Ukrainian war.

However, while the latter problems are nevertheless considered to be of utmost importance, according to the results of the survey, they are not really concerned about the situation of migration and the economy.

The results reviewed by Mandiner show that the representatives of the Social Democrats are most concerned about right-wing populism, the climate crisis and social inequalities, while the representatives of the European People’s Party (EPP) prioritize the war in Ukraine and the security of the European Union.

The right-wing representatives of Identity and Democracy (ID) and the European Conservatives and Reformers (ECR) highlighted migration, the erosion of national sovereignty and the acceleration of the so-called “green transition” in their responses.

The survey also revealed that four-fifths of the MEPs would not be satisfied with the re-election of Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
