The United States will provide $1 billion worth of immediate military aid to Ukraine, the US State Department announced, after President Joe Biden signed the national security legislation package passed by Congress in Washington, which includes, among other things, a $60.8 billion military aid package for Ukraine.
According to the announcement, the first contingent of the resuming American shipments includes, among other things, anti-aircraft missiles, projectiles for use in HIMARS mobile missile artillery devices, other, presumably 155-millimeter artillery ammunition, anti-tank and precision equipment, and vehicles.

The vehicle package will probably consist of non-armored vehicles, reports Portfolio.
In addition to this shipment, ATACMS medium-range ballistic missiles, which can be mounted on M270 MARS and M142 HIMARS rocket launchers, also arrived in Ukraine.
“We are sending a strong message today of American leadership in supporting Ukraine’s fight against Russian aggression.”

Regular US arms shipments have been suspended since the end of 2023, when the budget framework previously approved by Congress for this purpose ran out.
