“I can’t show that I’m in ruins” – The mother of 7 was diagnosed with cancer after her husband’s terrible accident

“Trouble always comes with bad luck” – goes the saying, but only those who really experience it can really feel it. In the last few months, the Ivók family has gotten out of many difficulties. Since the father and their two older children had an accident before Christmas and his leg almost had to be amputated, Gábor, who works as a truck driver, has been on sick leave. In the terrible accident, 9-year-old Petra heroically saved her father and brother from the wrecked car, and then she was tormented by nightmares for many weeks. The family’s livelihood was threatened, the mother, Ibolya, went back to work in the night shift in addition to raising the childrenso that they can pay the bills and put bread on the table. However, another tragedy struck: Ibolya was diagnosed with cervical cancer.

“There is not much time left to rest…”

After the accident, the father faced a great struggle: although a long operation saved his leg, the road to recovery is still bumpy and a long rehabilitation awaits him. The father, who otherwise works as a truck driver, was forced to take sick leave, so Ibolya, in addition to raising the 7 children, had to go back to work on the night shift.

The worst thing is that Gábor must stay at home for at least another 6 months, as the femur will not fuse together and you have to build muscle to be able to load it. He can only bend his knees at 65 degrees, Ibolya said their desperate situation, which has now culminated in the diagnosis that the mother has cancer.

“Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with cervical cancer.” We don’t know how serious it is yet. The further tests, biopsy, special ultrasound and the lab will tell, but we are confident that we caught it in time – detailed her own tragedy, the mother, who she tries to smile despite all the burdens, to be the same cheerful mother for your childrenas before.

After the accident, the financial situation of the Ibolyás got worse and worse, and the mother is afraid of what will happen if she is also out of work due to her illness.

– Even after 4 months, the insurance company didn’t manage to sort out its lines, so my salary, which is HUF 270,000 per month, Gábor’s sick pay, which is HUF 138,000, plus the children’s money, which goes to them, so we have to continue to pay everything – Ibolya reported about it. The father will definitely be on sick pay for another six months, that way Ibolya is now confident that they noticed her illness in time and that she does not have to leave her job, otherwise they will hardly have any money left to support their 7 children. The family is grateful for all the help they have received so far and in the future they ask people to help them in this hopeless situation.
