On September 28 last year, in the early afternoon hours, the elderly woman was driving a car in the residential area of Szarvas, on Dr. Melich János utca from Jókai utca in the direction of Szabadság út. At the intersection of Dr. Melich János utca and Szabadság út, the sign “Yield is mandatory!” despite the instructions of the sign, he did not give the right of way to the victim riding a bicycle on Szabadság út, as a result of which they collided. As a result of the accident, the 85-year-old man driving the bicycle suffered multiple serious injuries and died on the spot. There is a direct cause-and-effect relationship between the injuries sustained during the accident and the victim’s death, a fatal accident occurred.
The woman violated the provisions of the Road Traffic Act, according to which, regardless of the direction of arrival of the other vehicle, priority must be given at the intersection to the vehicle coming from a road on which “Give way is mandatory!” before the intersection. there is a sign for vehicles coming from the crossing.
