Due to technical reasons, the issuance of completed documents in foreign offices has been suspended. However, applications for passports are submitted in the usual way. Passports can also be issued for children under the age of 12, as it is not necessary to carry out a biometric check.
According to media information, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine instructed the heads of all diplomatic missions to temporarily suspend all consular activities for Ukrainian citizens of military age – reported Korrespondent.net.
Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleba confirmed the rumors that consular services provided to Ukrainian citizens of military age residing abroad were suspended. X posted a comment on the social network.
Kuleba noted that protecting the rights and interests of Ukrainian citizens abroad was and remains a priority for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but in the current circumstances the main priority is the fight for the survival of Ukraine.
“What does it look like now: a man of military age went abroad, showed his country that he does not care about his survival, and then comes back and wants to receive services from this country. This is not how it works. There is a war in our country.”
– emphasized the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
He reminded me that the obligation to update data existed in the regional recruitment centers even before the adoption of the new mobilization law.
“If these people think that someone is far away at the front fighting and giving his life for this state, while someone is sitting abroad and receiving services from this state, then it doesn’t work like that. Staying abroad does not relieve a citizen of his obligations to the country That’s why I ordered yesterday to take measures to restore the right attitude towards men of military age in Ukraine and abroad.

Kuleba added that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will soon will specify the further process of using consular services for men conscripted at foreign diplomatic missions.
