These institutions are officially meant to facilitate administration for members of the emigration, but dozens of cases are known when oppositionists were lured to these places and persuaded to return home, where they were then brought to court. The addresses of two such offices are known in Hungary, although the Orbán government denies their existence.

According to the Viennese Kurier, the Hungarian authorities refer to the fact that, for example, Hungarian policemen perform duty on the Croatian coast in the summer, or that Chinese uniformed officers work in Serbia as well as in Croatia.

Reinhard Bütikofer, the chairman of the EP’s delegation to China, emphasizes that such agreements were not invented by the Hungarians. And really. The first such contract was concluded by Italy, but it was quickly canceled as a result of the revelations.

At the same time, Chinese citizens living in the EU submitted a petition because they are afraid that the Chinese armed forces may carry out secret operations from Hungarian soil in other member states and detain dissidents.

Orbán can discuss the matter personally with Hsi Chin-Ping, who will visit Budapest in the second week of next month, accompanied by about 400 businessmen.
