Residents of another building bearing Donald Trump’s name may decide to rename the building after the owners of Trump Plaza in New Rochelle, New York, vote to remove the former president’s name from the building, reports the American edition of The Guardian.
Many residents are bothered by the name of the divisive politician, and in addition, the fact that
the values of apartments in buildings with the Trump name change more often than other similar properties on the market.
Greg Root, who represents the residents of the 194-apartment tower block, told the New York Post that a quiet majority of residents support the name change – according to the right-wing newspaper, only 24 are against it. The issue will be voted on at the general assembly.
By the way, Trump Plaza was not built by Trump’s company, but the builder eventually gave maintenance to Trump’s group of companies, whose contract ended in 2021, which was not renewed – despite this, according to The Guardian, the Trump Organization still lists it as its own portfolio on its website.
As the paper reminds us, this would not be the first time that Trump’s name was removed from a building.
