Fifteen injured people were taken to the hospital after a tram accident at Universal Studios Hollywood on Saturday night, Deadline reports.
According to the report, the Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatched units to the theme park at 9:00 p.m. local time and immediately treated the injured.
The police also spoke about the incident, their report revealed that the last car hit the barrier while going down a hill. The accident was caused by an unspecified problem with the vehicle’s braking system. The incident at the amusement park is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
The amusement park was established in 1964 on the grounds of Universal Studios. The park’s main attractions include the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and the studio tour.
Like many theme parks, Universal Studios Hollywood uses trams to transport people around the more than 400-acre site. Trams are also used for tours. It is not clear what exactly it was being used for at the time of the accident. According to the BBC, it is not clear whether this will affect the operation of the amusement park.
