A mini-screen VIA Epomaker keyboard has entered the cable-free segment

The affordable, sponge-packed model is available with five types of switches and two color combinations/cap profiles.

Epomaker has recently updated its range of TH80 series keyboards and launched the wireless TH80 Pro V2 VIA with a 75% discount for $100 (net), available in gray/black or retro bone white with colorful/patterned keycaps. .

The five-pin quick-change sockets of the gasket-mounted peripherals include Epomaker Mulan (3.8/2 mm, 47/60 gF), Flamingo (3.8/1.5 mm, 47/60 gF), Wisteria Linear (3.6 mm/ 2.2 mm, 45 gF) and attenuated/linear Sea Salt Silent (4/2 mm, 35/50/60 gF) or tactile Budgerigar (3.8/2 mm, 47/55/60 gF) switches can be requested , on the stems of which sit opaque dye-sub PBT caps with a Cherry (white) or SA-like profile (black).

The solution that comes with south-facing RGB LEDs has a flexible polycarbonate plate, and its device housing made of ABS plastic hides five layers of damping. In the upper right corner of the structure, which is equipped with stabilizers attached to the plate with a total of three adjustable tilt angles, there is a 1.14-inch LCD display, on which system and keyboard information, personalized logos, and possibly animations can be displayed with the Image Custom Tool, and true to its name, it supports VIA programming by manually importing the corresponding JSON file (USB, 2.4 GHz) into the software.

It is perhaps worth mentioning that the element decorated with a figure in the shape of a key, which sits next to the cursor arrows, magnetically sticks to its place, so it can be replaced with another similar accessory afterwards, if you like.

The device, powered by a 3000 mAh battery, can communicate with our machine with its 1.8-meter, stocking/bundled USB Type-C/Type-A (charging) cable, 2.4 GHz radio, and Bluetooth 5.0, and while the former two work with a polling rate of 500 Hz, the latter can provide the usual 125 Hz. You can switch between the operating modes with a single movement thanks to the three-position locking switch on the back, next to which there is a storage compartment for a receiver.

The US ANSI-assigned 79-button product comes with a cap- and switch-picking combo tool and three extra switches as accessories, but if you add the darker version to the cart, the package also includes seven (yellow) bonus caps.
