Google’s chatbot based on artificial intelligence continues to develop in a useful direction.
Google was hit by the rapid and overwhelming success of ChatGPT, which was launched in November 2022, to which the company initially tried to respond with the self-developed Bard chatbot, but since February it has been pushing with Gemini, also coming from within the company, but based on more advanced technology.
The platform created by the merger of Bard and Duet AI is also available in Hungarian via the web, but the mobile application released for Android and iOS has still not taken off in Hungary, despite the fact that it can be installed in 150 countries worldwide. That way, by the time it reaches us, it can be much smarter than its current form.
The code diver called AssembleDebug spotted that among the experimental solutions of the Gemini app, it is also possible to enable the uploading of files. Although the function does not yet do anything in practice, its appearance suggests that Google’s artificial intelligence will be able to perform operations not only with images, but also with PDFs and other types of documents, certainly beyond the mobile application.
Such experimental functions do not always make it to the public release, but in this case we can rightly assume that the search giant will take it all the way, since the arch-rival ChatGPT already manages the documents, which means that Gemini is clearly lagging behind here. The big question is in what form Google will make file upload available, but it is possible that at first, or even in the longer term, only paid Google Workspace and Gemini Advanced customers will have access.
