The ZTE Nubia Flip was first introduced to the world in February and was already being hailed as the world’s cheapest foldable smartphone since it was announced at just $499. It seems very likely that there will soon be an even cheaper alternative, thanks to Blackview, which will release the Hero 10 model with a purchase price of 399 euros in May.
Pricing may vary by region, but the amount of 399 euros, or roughly HUF 158,000, sounds really good. It’s clear that we won’t get high-end features for such an amount, but based on preliminary information, we can expect nice specifications – of course, there will be compromises that we have to make for the sake of the low price.
The Blackview Hero 10 will have a 6.9-inch bendable display, which is of course based on AMOLED technology and will have a resolution of 2560 x 1080 pixels. The panel’s refresh rate is only 60 Hz, which is one of the compromises we have to make in order to keep the lower price.
The device with a flip design is 8.8 mm thin when unfolded, and weighs 198 grams when placed on a scale. Instead of a 108-megapixel primary camera on the back of the smartphone, it is accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module. Selfies can be recorded with a 32-megapixel unit.
The Blackview Hero 10 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, which does not include a 5G modem, so we have to make do with the 4G connection. However, there will be plenty of RAM and internal storage, the Hero 10 has 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. The device will run the Android 13 system, which is already a bit outdated in 2024, and it is believed that we will not receive such serious support in the future.
On the other hand, it is definitely positive that the battery inside the mobile will support 45 W cable fast charging. However, the manufacturer has not yet revealed the capacity of the battery.
