With the Apple Watch X slated for release later this year, many are expecting some redesign.

While we’ve heard a few rumors about how the straps will connect to the watch, it looks like the actual watch won’t be getting a huge makeover, at least not yet. However, Apple is said to be using resin-coated copper, which allows for a thinner logic board.

It is a thin layer of copper foil coated with a resin like epoxy. This will have many benefits for future Apple Watch logic boards, such as greater durability and water resistance, as well as allowing for a thinner logic board. This would free up more space inside the Apple Watch for other components and sensors, or even make the watch itself thinner.

It doesn’t take a genius to realize that any freed up space in a device as small as an Apple Watch is a big deal. Especially since Apple is moving more and more into the healthcare space. This area could be used for additional sensors to track more health data for the Apple Health app. Apple is rumored to be working on blood pressure sensing as well as glucose monitoring for diabetics.

Although many details about the iPhone 16 have already come to light, the rumor mill is rather silent about the Apple Watch 10. It’s starting to look like there won’t be an Apple Watch Ultra 3 this year. Still, we’re expecting a new Apple Watch SE.

That leaves the possibility of a new, redesigned Apple Watch either this year or next. It seems that Apple has managed to eradicate the leaked details of the redesigned Apple Watch. We expect the arrival of Apple Watch details to pick up over the summer, especially after watchOS 11 was announced at WWDC.
