Recently, more and more foldable smartphones with clamshell design have been launched, which are trying to capture customers through price competition. The Nubia Flip from ZTE’s workshop has already reached the price level of $500, but Blackview is now shooting well below that.
Blackview’s first foldable mobile phone will hit the stores under the name Hero 10, and the product has already appeared at the Mobile World Congress, but it didn’t get much attention then. Now, however, its introduction is getting closer, and the company has also determined its final price. The novelty will be on store shelves in May and will be available for purchase in Europe.

The company added that the price may vary depending on the region, which is probably already so depressed that it will not be able to maintain the same level in different tax environments. We are confident that the device will reach Hungary, but it is certain that it will take some commitment for someone to vote their trust in the completely new device. The Hero 10 uses a 6.9-inch flexible AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1080 pixels, it can provide an adequate view, but it can only operate at 60 Hz. The external design is flashy, but Blackview also used the trick of packing a wristwatch display (1.19 inches) into the mobile phone to make the design even cheaper. Of course, there is no problem with this in itself, it has been successfully inserted, and it can provide a lot of useful information.
The problem is that it is not a 5G device, it uses the MediaTek Helio G99 system chip. The pace may be at an acceptable level, but the animations for the rollout will probably not be the smoothest. There is plenty of RAM, the system can manage with 12 GB, and there is enough backup storage, with a capacity of 256 GB.
There is a 32MP selfie camera inside, but it will be better to use the main camera to capture self-portraits, which is helped by the external screen. The primary imager already uses a 108-megapixel sensor, and the good news is that it is not a dummy camera, but an 8-megapixel solution equipped with ultra-wide-angle optics.
The fact that it comes with the Android 13 operating system doesn’t reflect well on the smartphone, and we don’t really know if it will be updated. A 4000 mAh battery has been placed under the cover, and in principle it will be possible to charge it with a power of 45 W. The structure is 8.08 millimeters thick when unfolded, and 16.25 millimeters when closed, and weighs 198 grams. On paper, it will withstand 250,000 drives in daily use, and it is said that the traces of the drive on its surface are very small.
Blackview’s products don’t often get a lot of attention, even though the brand has been with us for more than 10 years and is globally accessible, the devices reach our country as well, and they are also present in the iPon range. From this point of view, it is reliable and known by many, but your question is how reliable the foldable smartphone it offers will be. Their durability can be a problem even with multi-generational products from large manufacturers.
