They could find traces of a hitherto unknown planet in the outer region of the Solar System. Astronomers only refer to the supposed ninth celestial body, which may be located on the border of our solar system, as “Planet X”.

According to a recent study, astronomers have more and more convincing evidence that there may be a previously unknown, ninth planet in the solar system, writes People. The existence of a celestial body, also known as Planet X in professional circles, would explain a series of anomalies that astronomers encountered when observing the orbits of already known planets.

“In the distant parts of the solar system, many anomalous dynamic phenomena can be observed, which point to the presence of a previously undetected, massive celestial body, the 9th planet”

says the referenced study.

This happens only once in the life of a scientist: no one expected what happened

Emphasizing the significance of the discovery, Pasquale Panuzzo, an astronomer at the Paris Observatory, wrote in his statement that “such a discovery is made only once in a scientist’s life”.

The authors of the study also talked about the fact that the previously assumed regions have already been ruled out, so they are looking for the celestial body much further outside the boundaries of the known Solar System.
