Razer has come up with a new mobile controller – iPon

--

Razer has more than 10 years of experience in the field of mobile gamer accessories, and it has been many years since the company came up with the first Kishi controller. It is not known how many of these he was able to sell, but it seems that they see it as worth developing.

The latest member of the Razer Kishi series was simply labeled “Ultra”, which the company wants to use to indicate that this solution represents a higher level than before. The Kishi was originally a device that was completely mobile-focused, but that can’t really be said about the novelty. Kishi Ultra has become a true all-in-one product that can serve customers effectively on different platforms.

The Razer Kishi Ultra can essentially be considered the third generation member of the controller series.

The previous Kishi models were not always flexible in terms of device support, but the Kishi Ultra turned out to be an excellent solution from this point of view. You will be able to get to work with mobile phones, tablets or even a PC without any problems.

Mobile phones can be placed in the middle of the controller. The Kishi Ultra uses a Type-C USB connector for connection. Razer specifically emphasized that proper operation is guaranteed with these products from Galaxy S23 and Google Pixel 6 upwards, but the novelty can also be combined with other devices. Since Apple also now uses a USB-C connector, it will be possible to use the new Kishi immediately with members of the iPhone 15 series.

The novelty is not limited to mobile phones, even tablets can be accommodated, the current iPad Mini and average 8-inch Android tablets and foldable devices also fit in thanks to its design. What’s more, regardless of whether the Kishi Ultra is designed to fit another device. Thanks to the intermediate spacer, it can be solved easily so that it can be comfortably held even without a mobile phone. In this form, it will be possible to use, for example, a personal computer or even a suitable tablet.

A significant innovation for the Kishi Ultra is that it received the Sensa HD technology. This is a vibrating motor process that will be able to create a more immersive experience than ever before with haptic feedback. Razer made extremely bold statements in this regard, saying that users can get a better experience with Sensa HD than with traditional console controllers. However, it should be noted here that Windows 11 or at least Android 12 is required. The new Interhaptics SDK was created by Razer directly to get the most out of Sensa HD.

There are also RGB lights on the Kishi Ultra, which seems like an unnecessary waste of energy for such a device, but the point is that it can be very spectacular. The lights can be controlled in a variety of ways in the Razer Chroma system. More relevant information for controlling the games is that it has received Mecha-Tactile ABXY buttons and an 8-way D-pad can be found among the controls. The two joysticks are asymmetrically distributed and full-sized.

In order to use the Kishi Ultra, the Nexus application will be installed, which will allow the function of the buttons to be freely modified. This will work on both iOS and Android without a problem, and there are already thousands of supported games. The Nexus application even provides extras such as gameplay recording and sharing gameplay videos to different interfaces.
