The club owner got angry, and three Hungarian national football players also helped to postpone the championship opening

FCSB (formerly known as Steaua Bucuresti), which also won the regular season, entered the field at György Sepsiszent on Wednesday night in the knowledge that with a win – and a loss to Universitatea Craiova on Thursday – they can celebrate the Romanian championship title after nine years. Before the meeting, László Diószegi, the Hungarian owner of Sepsi OSK, reported in an outraged letter on his social media page that some domestic fans had given their fan cards to FCSB fans, who thus got seats in the domestic sectors. Despite this, the match took place without major fan disturbances.

The former captain of the Hungarian national team, Bernd Storck, also included three Hungarian national football players in the starting team, so Ákos Kecskés, Kevin Varga and Roland Varga also started on the pitch. FCSB took the lead in the 9th minute with a goal by Florinel Coman, but

Roland Varga was able to equalize two minutes later: he shot the ball into the lower left corner from 15 meters.

This was the first goal of the 24-time Hungarian national team right winger in this year’s championship, but he also scored four goals during the qualifiers of the Conference League.

At the start of the first half, David Miculescu gave the visitors the lead again, but Roland Varga could have equalized again before the break, but his shot bounced off the Bucharest goalkeeper. In the second half, however, the Székelyföld team managed to save a point, Florin Stefan’s goal in the 71st minute set the final score at 2-2.

With the draw, Sepsi OSK remained in sixth place in the upper house playoffs with 28 points. With four rounds before the end of the season, FCSB leads the league with 46 points, the defending champion Farul Constanta is second with 35 points, and Universitatea Craiova, who played one game less, is in third place with 34 points. FCSB can secure their title next Saturday when they host Farul Constanta. On Sunday evening, Sepsi OSK will visit the home of CFR Cluj in the 7th round of the upper house playoff.
