Several people have already admitted that it is not easy to manage matches against him, since the seven-time world champion is not only technically the best snooker player, but also a strong personality. Jackson Page from Wales did the same on Thursday. Ronnie O’Sullivan had an overwhelming start, and Page also made elementary mistakes, he was tense at 4-0, shaking his head strongly, apparently feeling very embarrassed, maybe he was thinking of winning at least one frame, so that the end would not be an ugly 10-0 .

Ronnie O’Sullivan slowed down only after 6-0, Page scored the goal of honor with a nice break of 142. After 6-1, he fought back from two snooker deficits due to the fact that the king’s concentration dropped, but in vain, at the decisive moment the Welshman made a mistake again. The classic nicknamed Rakéta then pushed a big break again (98), which is how the partial result was 8-1, after which the continuation on Friday is just a formality.

The maximum break of 147 was barely passed

The World Cup finalist in 2020, Kyren Wilson, also led 8-1 against Dominic Dale from Wales at the end of the first stage, after which, of course, his hands did not shake. The English player cannot be completely satisfied. In the last game, he already pushed 11 red and 11 black balls, he was close to the maximum break of 147, but then he made a mistake. £40,000 bothers him…

– My family, my wife and my children also came to this match, which is why I wanted to surprise them. Last year at school they saw me push 147 in the Crucible, so I thought it would be good to try the same thing so they could see it live, said Kyren Wilson about the missed opportunity.

It’s already the fourth final frame game

After David Gilbert and Sze Csia-huj, Robert Milkins and Jack Lisowski also advanced with a 10-9 victory in the final frame. In particular, the match between Ting Csün-huj and Lisowski was of a high standard.

– In the last frame, I just wanted to get the chance. Everything went smoothly after that, I pushed all the balls into the center of the pocket. This is one of my biggest victories in my career, said Lisowski, who prepared for the World Cup as the 17th ranked player in the world, so he had to play two matches in the qualifiers, but as he said, he is in very good shape and feels fresh.
