It is therefore surprising, but AS, Marca and Mundo Deportivo also reported that the Catalan coach has just now changed his decision. What’s more, the news was already reported by Talk FCB, a YouTube channel that specializes in club news and is aimed at Barcelona fans. There is no information yet on why Xavi decided to stay with Barcelona, but the decision is now in the hands of club president Joan Laporta.
The president of the giant Catalan club has previously stated several times that he would be happy if Xavi was with them next year as well, but if Barcelona does not win a single trophy this year, there will be a lot of pressure on both of them.
It is also not clear what Xavi’s conditions are, since according to some sources, the coach is only willing to continue as Barcelona’s coach if the club spends on reinforcements and acquires the players he has selected.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the management expects Barcelona to take at least second place in the league,
and this can even be accomplished by the surprise team of the season, Girona they collected only two points less than the garnet-red-blue team. Of course, the club management does not have many choices, since although quite a few top coaches are currently available, for one reason or another, none of them would probably be an ideal solution for Barcelona – most recently the name of the club’s youth coach, Rafa Marquez was raised.
