Ferrari and the world’s largest IT company signed a multi-year agreement, according to which HP became the title sponsor of the Italian team. According to this, the Maranello stable will continue its participation in Formula 1 under the name of Scuderia Ferrari HP from next week’s Miami Grand Prix, and the logos of the computer technology giant will also appear on the racing cars. The agreement does not only cover the F1 team, but the Ferrari E-Sport team and its academy will also bear a new name in the future. HP will reportedly support Ferrari with roughly 90-100 million dollars a year. A similar gigagreement in Formula 1 has perhaps only been experienced so far with Red Bull, after the technology company Oracle became its title sponsor.

New exterior, new name at Ferrari

Ferrari not only with a new name, but it will give it a new look for the Miami Grand Prix, as his cars will be painted in a special blue and white color. The Scuderia Ferrari team decided on the blue and white color because 60 years ago, in 1964, they used these two colors in the last two race weekends of the Formula 1 season – American and Mexican. It is interesting that the colors of the IT giant are blue and white.

According to the official statement, HP and Ferrari are committed to accelerating sustainable innovation, whether through technology or racing. And the two companies will work together to expand their educational initiatives within their teams and communities and create a lasting impact for generations to come. As part of the partnership, Ferrari’s Formula 1 team will use HP’s technology solutions, which will enable the Italian team to improve its practical accuracy and optimize strategic decision-making.

Ferrari used the red and white logo of Marlboro for many years, and was then sponsored by Misson Winnow, but since 2021 the team has not had an official sponsor.

The 2024 Formula 1 season continues on the first weekend of May, with the sprint Miami Grand Prix. After five race weekends, Max Verstappen, with 110 points, leads the overall standings with 25 points ahead of Red Bull teammate Sergio Pérez, and the two Ferraris are in third and fourth place, Charles Leclerc with 76 points and Carlos Sainz with 69 points.
