In the last few years, Formula 1 has been constantly trying to expand the competition calendar, if everything goes well, this year the world championship will be a record 24 rounds.

In F1 a decade ago, even 20 rounds were referred to as the final limit, and although the teams somewhat eased the situation of the mechanics and other workers by rotating the traveling crew, now the drivers also speak critically about the length of the seasons – on the way to their fourth world championship title in a row advanced Red Bull’s Max Verstappen also hinted that with such a schedule, he will say goodbye to the sport within a few years.

The CEO of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali, spoke about the calendar issue in a recent interview, he first highlighted that this year they will try to compile the 2025 draft earlier than ever before, and then he also touched on the competitors’ criticisms, in a not exactly understanding tone.

“I am in contact with them, we are talking. Those who want can even drive every day, those who don’t don’t have to compete in Formula 1” – he said in an interview with the British Sky Sports.

“It’s all about respecting the viewers. They want to see the competitions, and we are responsible to them, as well as to the sponsors, competition organizers and mediators. The magic of F1 is that we want to see heroes who enjoy their work. But I’m sure they really enjoy it” – he continued.
