Samsung’s new 50W…

• Samsung is launching a new fast charger with two USB-C ports in some European markets.
• One USB-C port can deliver 50W, while the other is limited to 25W.
• Using both ports at the same time limits their output to 25W.

While the market offers many high-quality fast chargers for charging the best Samsung phones, many people prefer official solutions. In order to catch up, Samsung is preparing to present a new 50W charger in certain European markets.

Spotted by industry insider Roland Quandt, the new Samsung 50W Super Fast Charging Adapter (model EP-T5020) uses the USB PD PPS protocol. PPS, or Programmable Power Supply, is an intelligent charging standard that precisely controls voltage and current, optimizing speed while ensuring device safety and compatibility.

According to Quandt, the charger is expected to carry a steep price of 69.90 euros (about HUF 27,000). It has two USB Type-C ports, one of which is capable of 50W fast charging and the other is limited to 25W. This allows owners of the latest Galaxy S24 Ultra or S24 Plus to take advantage of their maximum 45W charging capability, albeit only using one port.

Unfortunately, those hoping to quickly charge multiple devices will be disappointed. When both ports are in use, the charging speed drops to 25W in each case, which is anything but super fast. Many third-party PPS chargers offer significantly faster charging, even when powering multiple devices, and often at significantly lower prices.

The new dual-port charger is currently only available in certain European countries. It is not yet known whether Samsung will bring this charger to the Hungarian market and at what price. In the meantime, those looking for a Samsung charging solution for multiple devices should consider the company’s existing 65W three-port charger for HUF 25,000.
