Due to the reconstruction of its own stadium, Nyíregyháza also hosted Ferencváros in Balmazújváros, where the audience created a good atmosphere by cheering throughout.

As expected, the Budapest team acted more proactively, but the home team also played organized football. The visitors were forced to make a substitution after a quarter of an hour, Zachariassen was injured during a pass to the middle and could not continue the game. The home team, who attacked their opponents from time to time, were able to create a serious situation on several occasions after one possession of the ball.

FTC had more of the ball, but Nyíregyháza had the better chances. Due to irregularities and injuries, the game stopped a lot in the first half.

Even after the break, Nyíregyháza quickly created a situation, but the biggest opportunity came in front of Ferencváros: Alaxai caught and held back Barnabás Varga during a pass, and the referee awarded a penalty. Since the VAR system is not installed on this pitch, the national team attacker could also stand behind the ball and shoot half-high to the right, but Béla Fejér made a spectacular save.

The other goalkeeper also performed well, Ádám Varga had a lot to do, he saved several times with bravery, but in the 68th minute, he was unable to prevent the goal from Márk Kovácsréti’s shot. After the home lead, there were substitutions at Ferencváros, and the visiting team tried to equalize by dictating a high tempo, which they succeeded in the first half thanks to Cissé, who shot accurately after a great body trick. A few minutes later, the translation was done, Svevikjan curled defenselessly into the right side of the home goal.

Nyíregyháza, which was able to appear in the cup semi-finals for the first time, played organized and dangerous football for most of the match, making it difficult for Ferencváros, who, however, managed to win despite the missed penalty.

In the final at the Puskás Arena on May 15th, just like two years ago, the opponent will be Paks, which also beat Kisvárda 2-1 at home on Tuesday.
