JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon expressed optimism about the US economy, citing strong employment and a stable financial situation for consumers. According to Dimon, the recovery of the American economy is remarkable, and even in the event of a possible recession, consumers are in a good position.
At the same time, he drew attention to several risk factors, such as budget expenditures, inflation and geopolitical conflicts. He pointed out that inflation could remain high for a longer period of time, which could lead to higher interest rates.
Dimon believes that government should involve more experts in its decision-making processes. Although his name has been floated in connection with some top economic positions, JPMorgan has said that Dimon does not intend to run for those positions.
