Ryan Gosling thinks about his family and his deathbed before every important decision

--

It’s an unusual decision-making technique, but he says he’s never regretted it.

Ryan Gosling’s new action comedy hits theaters in less than a week, The Fall Guy, in which, perhaps that much we can reveal, he plays a stuntman. On the occasion of the premiere of the remake of the classic series, Gosling with the film’s director, David Leitch (Killer Flight, Atomic Blonde, John Wick, Deadpool 2) gave a joint interview to Men’s Health.

Reporter Ben Court asked the actor if he has a motto or a moral compass, and Gosling replied that although he hasn’t managed to come up with any resounding truths of life so far, he still has something to lean on when he has to make important decisions. In other words: there is someone for it.

“My wife and daughters. They are my compasses”

– stated the actor, and said that when he is faced with a difficult choice, he imagines what he would think about the given thing when he is lying on his deathbed, looking back – and this helps him decide what to do.

“It puts things in a new perspective. And I always point out that my family comes first. I don’t think I would regret anything from a professional point of view, but I always think of Eva and the girls, they are the most important. Let’s just say it’s probably not the best thing to imagine my deathbed, but it helps me”

Gosling explained. And when asked who he considers his biggest hero, he said his wife, Eva Mendes.

He and Mendes have been a couple since 2011. They also worked together The Place Beyond the Pines on the film, and Gosling realized during the filming that he wanted to start a family with the actress:
