Even Vecsés could not stop the team of the University of Debrecen, which managed to grab seven of the eight points that could be collected in the previous four championships.

The excellent series of DEAC handball players could continue on Friday evening at the championship in Vecses. Norbert Mándi’s crew remained undefeated in the previous three rounds of the NB I/B (they won twice in addition to a draw), so they could look forward to the match against the Pest counties with confidence.

Today’s match started with a goal from Ákos Pethő, but Kristóf Gáspár didn’t have to wait long for his answer, at the end of the second minute it was 1-1. This time, Tamás Boros started for us, and our goalkeeper excelled, making nine saves until the break. After 3-3, we produced a 5-1 series, and with that we went (4-8). The second half of the first half was better for the Vecsés, so this period ended with a score of 12-12.

At the beginning of the second half, Balázs Dobos, Ádám Kerezsi and Ákos Pethő scored in order, thanks to which we were again in a more comfortable position. In the fortieth minute, Ádám Maródi could receive the congratulations of his teammates, as the goalkeeper saved Ákos Angerbrandt’s penalty kick. We were in control of the match, as evidenced by the fact that the home team couldn’t get closer than two. At the end of the 53rd minute, Dániel Horváth scored the 23rd goal of the Vecsés team (23-25). In the remaining time, the home team did not score against us, while we scored four times, so overall we won a confident 29-23 victory. Tamás Illés, Ákos Pethő and Péter István also contributed to the success with six goals.

In the 28th round, our team will host Győr, who secured promotion last week, the match will be held on May 4 at DESOK.
