In the wake of our miner’s values, it was held on Friday Reimann in Mining History Miniverse a professional conference combined with an exhibition opening. The exhibition also proves that mining represents the region’s past, present and future at the same time.

Zoltán Szabó-Berghauer, head of the cultural center and the library, greeted the invited guests at the event. He went on to say that the primary goal of the conference and the joint exhibition is cooperation, both at the institutional and local government levels. Mining has defined such a long period in the region, we have inherited so many values, cultural and built heritage, performance and at the same time responsibility from our mining predecessors, that it should be an authentic topic of conversation as long as possible.

Dr. János Tittmann, the mayor of Dorog, also spoke about heritage-led urban development, the essence of which is to take care of, nurture, renovate, enrich and increase the values ​​created by the miners. He hopes that Miniverzum will also prove that the effort to preserve value has results. He added: we must do so that the future generation also considers it important to respect these values.

Lectures added color to the mining conference

After the greetings, József Bánhidi, the mayor of Annavölgy, first a Dorogi coal basin he talked about the beginning of his mining business, and then he brought to life the lives of important people connected to the settlement, of whom we can all be proud.

István Vöröskői, certified mining engineer, retired mayor of Kesztölc, head of the Central Mine Rescue Station in Dorog, told the story of the coal dust explosion in Lencsehegy on December 4, 1988.

Gyuláné Fazekas, a Tokodi resident, recalled the 1942 Erzsébet mine accident in Tokodi based on her mother’s recollections.

Management member Andrea Ágoston presented the work of the Csolnoki Miner’s Traditional Preservation Association. The program was closed by the presentation “End and Beginning” and the presentation of the Miniverse, held jointly by Zoltán Szabó-Berghauer and Bettina Adamik, the professional manager of the latter institution.
