“During the visit of the Polish delegation to South Korea, a special agreement was concluded on the delivery of 72 missile launchers belonging to the HOMAR-K system and thousands of guided missiles. The acquired technologies will enable the use of Polish-made 122-millimeter rocket projectiles,” wrote Bejda on X.
The deputy minister has been accompanying a government delegation in South Korea since Monday. HOMAR-K is an artillery system designed by the two countries for the needs of the Polish army, reports Reuters.
The South Korean Hanwha Aerospace also confirmed the signing of the contract, highlighting that the value of the shipment to Poland is 1.64 billion dollars (about HUF 600 billion).
According to CNA, the contract just concluded is part of an agreement between Seoul and Warsaw on the supply of more than two hundred rocket launchers and their projectiles, which was signed by former Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak in 2022. Phased delivery of the missile launchers began in 2023.
In a statement, Hanwha Aerospace announced that the current agreement will only enter into force at the end of November this year after another financial contract is concluded with the support of the government.
