Announced again this year by the Magyar Közút Nonprofit Zrt. and the Traffic Safety Section of the Transport Science Association Annual Turnover Totalcar also organized such a poll based on the model of the competition, except that they are looking for the worst roundabout of the year. By now, the finalists have been selected from the many recommendations received.
A candidate from the county of Csongrád-Csanád was also included in the short list of five. Although the big Szeged traffic light traffic circle would probably jump out at many people – which is not a bad solution anyway – in fact, one of the worst solutions was born in Szentes: Totalcar according to his “unprofessional” jury. A double roundabout was built here in 2018, but in a more solid form than Dugonics Square in Szeged.
At the intersection of Kossuth-Horváth Mihály-József Attila utca in Szentes, you can get lost in the double roundabout. “A couple of you sent this, saying that it was unnecessarily overcomplicated. Reviewing it with an unprofessional jury, it really is, he can certainly create an even bigger traffic jam from a bigger traffic jam – although how common this can be in Szentes, the people of Szentes will tell you,” the paper explained the choice.
The final vote will be for the public on this page, voting will close at noon on May 6. In the meantime, the double roundabout in Szentes in question can be viewed on a video made with a drone, based on which it cannot be called ugly.
