Nuclear cooperation can be established between Hungary and China

--

The world’s electricity consumption is increasing significantly due to cooling and heating systems, industrial development, and the transition to electric transportation. Péter Szijjártó, Hungary’s minister of foreign trade and foreign affairs, highlighted this fact in his latest Facebook post, emphasizing that nuclear energy has a special role in this process.

“That is why it is of great importance that we won two important battles in Brussels, when the European Union recognized nuclear energy as sustainable, and when we prevented the sanctions to be imposed on it,” wrote the minister.

Péter Szijjártó also drew attention to the fact that China is at the forefront of the development of nuclear technologies, and that Hungary has also made significant progress in this area, and all of this gives the two countries the opportunity to start closer cooperation.

“China is at the forefront of developing nuclear technology, and since Hungary has developed a complete nuclear ecosystem, we are therefore interested in establishing this type of nuclear cooperation. Today, based on the negotiation with the leaders of the China National Nuclear Corporation, I am convinced that this is not one-sided,” he wrote.
