At the last moment, Revolut withdraws from the announced base fee for instant card transfers

--

After all, Revolut will not introduce a basic fee of 20 eurocents, or approximately HUF 80, for instant card transfers from Saturday, April 27, they informed their users in an email on Thursday. This means that their currently valid transfer fee of 0.7 percent will remain in effect for transfers made to European accounts not held at Revolut, but at other banks.

Instant card transfer allows you to send money directly from your Revolut account to a non-Revolut customer’s Visa or Mastercard debit card using a 16-digit card number.

According to the current system, instant card transfers can be made within the countries of the European Payments Area (SEPA) with a fee of 0.7 percent. In other words, if you want to send 1,000 euros to someone else, Revolut charges 7 euros as a transfer fee.

Revolut announced on February 26 that they would introduce a minimum fee of 0.2 euros for these transfers, which means that even very small value transfers would have to be paid at least this much. The new system would have entered into force on April 27, but two days before that, the change was rejected.
