Shooting and moving due to bad neighborly relations in Eszteregny

--

The victim and his family moved into a family house in Eszteregnye in May 2023, after noticing that their neighbor, a 39-year-old man, and his partner were holding loud parties on a weekly basis, lasting even several days.

On June 22 of last year, the victim told the defendant’s partner about the loud gathering that was taking place again, and since the defendant’s partner said in the midst of insults that they play music whenever they want, the victim called the police for disturbing the peace.

On July 5 of last year, when the victim got home from work, she found again that they were having a party at the defendant’s place, so she reported it to the police that evening.

The arriving police warned the accused to follow the rules of living together, however, after they left, the already drunk and irritated accused went to the victim’s gate and informed the police in an obscene tone. After he went home, the victim shot several times in the air in his own yard with the license with his gas-alarm weapon.

Hearing this, the defendant became even more irritated and went back to the victim’s house, where he questioned the victim again in front of the gate, which turned into a fight, during which the defendant – accompanied by threatening gestures and using selected obscenities – threatened to kill the victim.

The accused was eventually caught by his partner and two men partying with them and taken away from the victim’s property.

The victim and his family – who had become incapable of rest and peace – moved out of the property in a short time after the defendant’s threats were taken seriously, and the property was put up for sale.

The Nagykanizsa District Prosecutor’s Office recently charged the man with the offense of harassment, Dr. Eszter Németh, prosecutor and deputy press spokesperson of the Zala County Prosecutor’s Office.
