The National Charity Hunting Public Nonprofit Kft. organized a charity hunt for the 5th time in all the counties of our country a few months ago.
The initiative started in Fejér county has been a nationwide event since 2019. The aim of the event is to bring medical equipment to the children’s wards of designated hospitals with the cooperation of the Hungarian hunting community. Thanks to the participants, a record donation of HUF 51.4 million was collected in 2023, of which 23 hospitals will receive new innovative medical instruments.
In five years, almost HUF 5.4 million was received from St. Borbála Hospital’s Infant and Children’s Department and the hospital received 8 devices. This year, 1 million 37 thousand 687 forints were collected, and thanks to the donation, the medical institution in Tatabánya was enriched with two new instruments.
– The ambulatory 24-hour blood pressure monitor is necessary for the diagnosis and treatment of high blood pressure, and there is a demand for an increasing number of tests. In addition, the instrument was supplied with cuffs of different sizes to fill gaps. The other is an IP1020 type patient monitor, which we will also use during outpatient care – Lea Bereczky, head of the department, presented the devices and thanked the donation several times.
“It has a great advantage that it is suitable for measuring vital functions from newborn to 18 years of age, such as blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation,” added the chief physician. We already learned from László Fejes, the manager of the Országos Yótékonysági Vadászat Közhaznú Nonprofit Kft., that the charity event actually goes back 11 years, and five years ago that the series of county-level events became a national movement.
– We can say that the 400 devices we previously handed over have contributed to the recovery of almost 200,000 sick children. The National Charity Hunt is Hungary’s most comprehensive charity program – said the managing director at the ceremonial event. The healthcare institution representing the leadership of dr. Acting Director General Zoltán Ernyey thanked for the support on behalf of the children’s ward patients and spoke with pleasure about the exemplary collaboration.
Charity hunting in numbers
The Környei Vadásztársaság gave a great performance last year and the year before. For this reason, he thanked the secretary László Strauss and the hunting association. László Fejes, managing director of the National Charity Hunt Közhasznú Nonprofit Kft., said at the event that there is no charity organization on a similar scale to the last charity hunt. The event took place at 42 locations, with the participation of almost 1,000 hunters, thanks to whom HUF 51.2 million went to the domestic health sector.
