Library Corner – Books at the Flower Festival

On Saturday, April 27, between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m., the Móra Ferenc Cultural Center will organize the spring flower festival, which has become a tradition. Visitors to Petőfi-tér, the promenade in front of the Swan House and Béke-tér can enjoy more and more beautiful flowers and ornamental plants.

Lovers of reading should also visit this morning event, as the Sándor Petőfi City Library will be located in front of its building. He offers for sale his old, used, professionally scrapped books at a nominal price of 300 and 500 forints. A unique but affordable price is set for publications in good condition and almost flawless. In addition, music CDs, DVD films, audio records and puzzles await their new owners. From May, documents will continue to be sold under the institution’s arcades on market days, on Tuesday and Friday mornings.

In our city, this year is the Móra memorial year, because Ferenc Móra 145th of his birth, 90th of his death, his brother, István Móra 160th of his birth and nephew, Laszlo Mora we commemorate the 80th anniversary of his death. In the spirit of this, in addition to the books for sale, a Móra corner will be created, selected from the library’s local knowledge collection. Visitors can read Mórák’s works of fiction, volumes of poetry and short stories, novels for young people and adults. It is placed on the shelf next to the specialist books of some semi-ecclesiastical authors Krisztián Náry last year, his gastronomic work entitled “So they ate” was also published, from which you can find out whether Ferenc Móra liked to eat.
