The tender was issued by the Ministry of Construction and Transport, the open EU procedure started in September last year, the final bid deadline was November 23, 2023. Three companies submitted bids for the construction of the new Danube bridge, and in the end Duna Aszfalt, which offered the cheapest net bid of HUF 294.96 billion, won the contract. This will make the most expensive Danube bridge ever built in Hungary.
The plans for the new Mohács bridge, as well as the road network between the M6 highway section connecting to it and highway No. 51, were prepared by Speciálterv Építőjenőgi Kft. on behalf of Nemzeti Infrastructura Fejlsztő Zrt.
According to the data on the company’s website, the total area of the three-span steel bridge will be 18,000 square meters. The Mohács bridge will be the 21st bridge on the Hungarian section of the Danube, the 20th is the Danube bridge in Kalocsa, which is essentially already completed, and its handover is due this summer, Telex wrote.
