Ecologist Iván Gyulai, president of the Institute of Ecology Foundation for Sustainable Development, director of the Institute, was a guest of Dr. Ferenc Entz Agricultural Technical University in Venice on April 24. The topic of Wednesday’s presentation was the school’s deep mulch garden, but in addition, the practical techniques of mulch gardening and the connections of home garden cultivation based on ecological foundations were also discussed.

– We follow the guidelines of environmentally friendly management in our school’s horticulture. Teacher Lonkai Emese, certified horticultural engineer, joined our teaching staff in September, she is the teacher who practices permaculture cultivation at home. Under his guidance, we created our deep mulch bed, in which we plan to plant only pumpkins this year, and in the future we will plant a mixture of plants – Elvira Bontovics, the school’s teacher, told feol.hu, who also told us why and how the idea came about. at the invitation of the ecologist: – Iván Gyula regularly gave a lecture in Sukoro, during one of his lectures the idea came up that it would be great if he would look at our beds, comment on our ideas and our students would also have the opportunity to meet him.

Due to Wednesday’s rain, the planned presentation in the garden was canceled, but the professionals held an exciting discourse within the walls of the school. The presentation was part of the program of the school’s sustainability theme week.
