The District Prosecutor’s Office in Kiskunhalas filed charges against a woman for attempted robbery, trespassing and multiple thefts, the Bács-Kiskun County Prosecutor’s Office wrote in its announcement.
In addition to numerous shoplifting incidents, the woman was searching in the children’s room at night in a family home, the noise of which woke up the minor, and, questioning the thief, she took back the money she had just taken from her desk.
According to the indictment, the perpetrator had no occupation, job, or regular income, so he supported himself by stealing. At the beginning of 2023, he regularly left stores without payment with branded drinks. Once he walked out of the photocell entrance door with a shopping cart filled with more than 400,000 forints worth of alcohol, meat products and chocolates, taking advantage of the door opening due to the arrival of a customer. At night, he took roosters from farms around Kiskunhalas, which he sold.
Before his capture, in the middle of September 2023, he entered a family home through an open door. He was searching in the children’s room when the noise woke up the child sleeping there, and he took back the cash he had lifted from the desk from the surprised thief. The noise woke up the parent sleeping in the other room, and together they disturbed the uninvited night visitor.
The prosecutor’s office proposes to impose a prison sentence on the accused, who has been in custody since his arrest, on the grounds that he cannot be released with a discount. The District Court of Kiskunhalas will decide on his guilt.
