Shenzhen is the seventh major Chinese city with which Budapest will have a direct connection, with two flights per week on the route from June.

Another flight will be launched between Hungary and China, so from June this year, a seventh Chinese city, Shenzhen, will also be directly accessible from Budapest, where there will be two flights a week, Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, announced in Beijing on Wednesday, according to MTI.

He added that this will increase the number of Chinese flights to 19 per week, which is one and a half times as many as in the pre-Covid period, and much more than any other Central European airport or city accessible from China.

Péter Szijjártó did not comment on which airline will operate the flight, despite the imminent departure date, its schedule is not yet available in the booking systems.

Previously, market information said that Hainan Airlines would fly between Shenzhen and Budapest.

The airline announced in April that it will launch flights between Shenzhen and Vienna from May 29, which will operate twice a week with Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners.
