They classify the world. Reports on the human rights situation of individual countries are published every year by the Office of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor Law of the US Department of State. The first report was issued in 1977, in which the situation of the previous year was evaluated. It was not revealed exactly what information the reports are based on, they will certainly use the data provided by the American ambassadors. However, the United States ambassador to Budapest, David Pressman, has previously made statements about our country that do not correspond to reality, for example regarding energy policy, but we also wrote about the behavior and actions of the United States ambassador to Budapest seriously infringing Hungary’s sovereignty.

Washington passed the Child Protection Act

Unsurprisingly, the report cites the implementation of the Child Protection Act 2021 as the number one problem, criticizing that

In Hungary, the sexual education of Hungarian children is the exclusive right of the parents.

The law states, among other things, that you cannot sell products near kindergartens or schools, you cannot put them in the store window and you can only sell them separately from other products, but only in closed packaging, any products intended for children that indicate a deviation from the self-identity corresponding to the birth gender, the gender change, promotes homosexuality, and portrays sexuality for its own purposes.

Ambassador David Pressman has more than once stood up to the host country’s government regarding child protection laws. For example, at last year’s Budapest Pride parade, the diplomat only fueled anger in his speech, in which he spoke about the government’s goal of turning Hungarians against each other.

The left builds itself up with foreign money

The report accuses the Hungarian government of using the intelligence services and the public service media to investigate civil society organizations and independent media receiving foreign funding.

The document no longer mentions the fact that the leadership of Action for Democracy confessed that György Soros gave the millions of dollars to the Hungarian left.

In connection with this, they also mentioned the introduction of the Sovereignty Protection Act last December, according to which those who accept campaign support from abroad can expect severe punishment. Despite all of this, the fact that the Hungarian government is speaking out against the left led by Soros causes a problem for Washington. The report refers to Transparency International Hungary and writes about significant government corruption. The latter is an organization supported by Soros, which also seriously questions the report’s impartiality.

According to Washington, crimes committed by migrants are okay

Of course, the issue of illegal immigration was not left out. But as Tamás Menczer also pointed out, Washington would do better if he was sweeping around his own house. The report writes in detail about how migrants are treated in Hungary, and even mentions the violence allegedly committed by the Hungarian authorities. However, they did not address the fact that in recent months the lives of the people living in the Southern Region have been made miserable by the migrants: it happened that members of the gangs attacked each other in broad daylight in the parking lot of a shopping center.

Murder of a 22-year-old university woman, sexual assault, knife attack, robbery, murder of a two-year-old boy and wounding of his mother

– Tamás Menczer listed in his video the serious crimes committed by migrants in the United States.

However, Biden still sees the solution in letting in illegal immigrants: Washington is destroying the border protection measures one after the other, despite the fact that the American public is also against the relaxations. Tamás Menczer pointed out that according to surveys, 75 percent of Americans consider the immigration crisis affecting the country to be a serious problem.

The United States drinks wine and preaches water

According to the document, significant human rights problems included severe restrictions on freedom of expression and freedom of the media. This is more than interesting, especially in light of the fact that more than half of American journalists are concerned about press freedom in their own country. In other respects, David Pressman also had a say in the editing of Magyar Nemzet, thus violating the freedom of journalism. At that time, the diplomacy led by David Pressman did not approve of the use of the word.

When it comes to Ukraine, do human rights no longer matter?

We were curious if “democracy is on the wane” in Hungary, how Ukraine was faring at the US State Department. In the case of our eastern neighbor, the international community has apparently become more lenient since the Russian-Ukrainian war. The trend can be observed in the EU accession process of the post-Soviet country, but also in the American report,

which deals very briefly with the situation of local minority groups, including the Transcarpathian Hungarians.

In connection with the latter, many examples could be listed: the anti-Hungarian outbursts of the Baloga clan, the language laws – the aim of which was to suppress the Hungarian language -, the removal of Hungarian symbols (such as the Turul statue), and stronger actions were carried out in Subcarpathia in connection with military conscriptions.

Despite all this, according to Washington, crimes involving violence or threats of violence against LGBTQ people are a much more pressing problem.
