Central European Logistics Conference (Central European Conference on Logistics 2024) organized by the Logistics Department of the Engineering Science Association and the Logistics Institute of the University of Miskolc April 22-24, 2024. between in Lillafüred.

More than 50 presentations were given at the professional meeting, including innovative topics such as artificial intelligence and the application of various digitization solutions in the logistics field.

The main sponsor of this year’s conference was East-West Intermodal Logisztikai Szolgáltató Zrt., which operates Europe’s largest and most modern intermodal terminal, and which concluded a strategic cooperation agreement with the University of Miskolc at the event. The present and future professional relationship between the company and the higher education institution is exemplary, promotes the high-level training of logistics specialists and contributes to the development of the logistics sector in Hungary.

Several jubilee events were celebrated at the Central European Logistics Conference: the launch of logistics education and research 40 years ago at the University of Miskolc; the 60-year professional relationship between the University of Miskolc and the Otto von Guericke University of Magdeburg, as well as the 10-year professional relationship between the Institute of Logistics Engineering of the Technical University of Graz and the Institute of Logistics of the University of Miskolc. As part of the conference, a gala dinner was organized on the occasion of the 70th birthday of the former dean and institute director of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Informatics, Prof. Dr. Béla Illés.
