The road renovation program will continue at two locations, parks will be built at several locations, and the running circuit will also be renewed. We checked where there are works and traffic restrictions in the city.
Municipal representative Tamás Benkő informed the Post that the renovation of the D. Ordass Lajos park running circle has begun, and that it will not be possible to use it in the next three weeks. This is the park where they recently installed a new climbing frame, trampoline and balance swing. According to local government representative Tamás Benkő, the 300-meter-long, 1.5-meter-wide running track covered with recordan – just like the soccer field it surrounds – was established by the local government back in 2014. These two sports areas attract many residents of Dunakes to this community space, and now it is timely to renovate the running circuit.
“During our site visit with the manager of the contractor this morning, we agreed on the design of the work areas. We are putting a lot of emphasis on making sure that both the soccer field and the new playground are accessible and usable even during the renovation of the jogging track. To this end, we ensured that the other part of the playground, located on the western side of the park, and the soccer field are separated from the running circle by a mobile fence. We provided a ‘gap’ for the athletes in the four corners of the fence along the field so that when the ball accidentally bounces into the area affected by the renovation during the game, it can be retrieved from there,” said the representative.
Road renovations
The spring road renovation program is progressing as planned. They work at two locations in the city, one is a section of Tábor utca-Mátyás király utca and a section of Rákóczi út. Traffic control is to be expected here. According to Ádám Juhász, representative of the Alag district, the renovation will be carried out with the least possible traffic restrictions. “I visited the site several times to resolve the requests that arose during the work. I would also like to thank the residents for their patience and the contractor’s flexibility,” emphasized the commissioner.
At the request of deputy mayor Márton Nyíri, the renovation of Tábor Street is being carried out in a way that also takes into account the two institutions involved. “We asked the contractor to take into account the peak traffic periods at Fazekas school and Piros Kindergarten (7:30-8:00, 1:30-2:00, 3:30-4:00 p.m.) and allow the use of Szép Ernő utca during this period, so that the traffic order is not needed temporarily nor change around the institutions. Work is progressing well. The first day went smoothly, thank you for your patience,” said Márton Nyíri.
Developments in housing estates are also doing well. As part of the Safe School Street Program, the parking lots next to the Kőrö school, road renovation and sidewalk construction are coming to an end, and the planting of shrubs, trees and flowers will follow.
In addition, at the Szent István park, the parking lot promised by Márton Juhos, the municipal commissioner responsible for residential development, and the sidewalk, which the parents requested from the representative when the firemen’s playground was built, were completed.

We will create an automatic irrigation network on the nearly 5,000 m2 green area and plant more than 2,000 shrubs and flowering plants, create new flower beds and shrub patches based on the plans of head gardener Eszter Tóth, representative József Seltenreich told the Post.
The landscaping of Szent Mihály tér is also almost complete, according to the municipal representative József Szabó, the barrier-free walkway, the construction of the irrigation system, the installation of the requested benches and the planting of shrubs have been completed, and the final finishing touches and flower planting will take place in the next few days. There is no need to count on closures here.

“You can also get to the field from the other side of the forest strip. The construction is progressing at a very good pace, the formwork of the slab and the roof is in progress, and the internal partition walls are already in place,” said the representative.
