Only trombone – He gave a concert in the small temple with the Setren4 gallery

--

Four members of the SzEged TRombone ENsemble awaited those interested in the small Lutheran church in Békéscsaba, on Wednesday afternoon. The brass players brought elements from almost every era of music history to their concert, from film scores to reworkings of organ works.

The innovative trombone quartet is a rare phenomenon, since this instrument mostly appeared as part of orchestras in the past, but now culture lovers could hear a one-instrument orchestra, and the church surrounded the audience with its special atmosphere.

– The trombone is a relatively new instrument, which may be known from wind and symphonic bands, but there they were always at the back. We are the ones who show that the trombone is versatile because it can be adapted to all kinds of music, he said György Gyvicsántrombone professor at the Academy of Music, then added: the fact that only trombone plays in this orchestra is innovation itself.

SzEged the trombones in TRombone ENsemble quartet Dávid Sztranyák, Zoltán Czirok, György Gyivicsán, as well as Márk Tóth they played it, who also showed us the structure of the trombone.

– The trombone is also interesting because it is not the instrument that vibrates a note, but the lips of the particular musician, so practically the human body gives the sound – said Márk Tóth, the trombonist of the Budapest Operett Theater, and then showed the sound, which otherwise he blows into the instrument with his mouth. This means that he squeezes air through his closed mouth so that it vibrates his lips. This voice is not yet similar to his instrument, but as soon as he raised it to his mouth, the music started.

Zoltán Kalmár, the trombone teacher of the Bartók Béla SzKG in Békéscsabai, and the organizer of the event, said that the group is an artistic cohesion that has set its flag on the maximum virtuosity of the art of trombone performance. He then highlighted the relationship between the church and the brass players.

“Basically, brass instruments took part in church and religious life in the old liturgy, regardless of the church,” he said, then pointed out that the evangelical parish regularly supports the trombone section operating in Békéscsaba.

György Gyivicsán framed the works performed at the concert with stories: for example, Mozart performed in a way that few people could hear before. The listening habits of music lovers are often limited to anechoic environments, which was abundant here, which made the sound of the wind instruments more atmospheric and extended, presumably to the delight of the audience, as the applause did not stop, and there were times when the audience wanted to applaud before the end of the music. .
