After thirty years, the Water, Music, Flower Festival Association decided not to organize the nationally renowned festival. József Michl, the mayor of Tata, was informed about this at the beginning of April. However, with the intervention of the city, it now looks like they will hold the event after all. It is true that a new company will organize the large-scale festival.

At Wednesday’s board meeting, the deputies discussed the issue of the Water, Music, and Flower Festival in an emergency motion. József Michl, the mayor of Tata, said that he is very grateful to those citizens who once thought that the city needed an event organized by the locals for the locals.
They support the festival
– We were very shocked when they decided at the beginning of April that they no longer wanted to organize the festival this year. Therefore, I asked them to discuss with the event organizing teams operating in the area whether we could get some kind of professional help. This is how Tatabánya’s Blue Hill Media Kft. came into the picture – explained the mayor, who said that the company approached the city with a request.

– The head of the company contacted me with the request that since the time until the festival is very short, they will not have time to go through the sponsorship negotiations until they get to the point where the financial coverage of the event is secured. Therefore, they asked that if we want the festival to remain, the local government should contribute to the costs – revealed the mayor, at whose suggestion the board finally accepted the motion to support the event with HUF 20 million from the Tata card included in its 2024 budget from the compensation framework. This means that the municipality reimburses the price difference of the discounted entrance ticket provided to Tata card holders.
Jakab Jácint a Blue Hill Media Kft. its managing director told Kemma.hu that without the support of the Tata municipality, they certainly would not have been able to undertake the organization of the Water, Music, Flower Festival. The performers will be announced next week.
The free part remains
– In exchange for the support, we naturally had a request from the organizers. On the one hand, to ensure high professional standards. They should bring performers to Tata who really represent artistic value, many people like them and they have not yet performed with us. Our other request was that there should definitely be a Tata Card discount and other family discounts. Also, there should definitely be cultural locations at the event that anyone can visit without a ticket. Family members in particular should be given the opportunity to do so. But we also agreed that there should be a price cap at the event. That the caterers offer food and drinks at an affordable price – the mayor listed their conditions.
