But they also asked in the leaked opinion poll whether they consider Péter Magyar, Viktor Orbán or Ferenc Gyurcsány to be the protector of families.
Pride, fear, anger, dissatisfaction
– the respondents could choose from these to the question of how they feel when they think about Hungary’s current situation in the public opinion survey commissioned by the government, which 444 came into his possession. In the conversation, the interviewer also inquires about what the respondent considers to be the most important problem in Hungary, what causes the most concern in his family, how he sees the country’s and his own economic situation.
Some politicians, such as Viktor Orbán, Péter Magyar and Ferenc Gyurcsány, as well as the mayoral candidates Gergely Karácsony, Dávid Vitézy and Alexandra Szentkirályi had to be evaluated on a 4-point scale. In addition to them, the interviewer asked for the evaluation of Anna Donáth, László Toroczkai, Klára Dobrev, Péter Márki-Zay, as well as “György and Alex Soros” and the “opposition coalition”.
There was also a question about the EP election, but interestingly, Momentum was not included among the answer options.
A significant part of the public opinion poll deals with Gergelly Karácsony, they separately measure how the mayor would fare one-on-one against his two main challengers, what they like least about him, how they evaluate his performance and how close they are to Gyurcsány.
They also asked whether the respondent agreed that during Christmas
- housing prices and rents are less affordable,
- Karácsony entrusted Ferenc Gyurcsány and his friends and supporters with the leadership of Budapest,
- homelessness is worse
- traffic is greater, environmental pollution is stronger,
- the city was close to bankruptcy.
And one question concerned whether they would support Gergely Karácsony even if they knew how
- during rampant inflation, he gave his deputies a huge pay rise,
- Karácsony is supported by the non-profit organizations of György Soros and Alex,
- Karácsony and his political partners, Péter Márki-Zay and Ferenc Gyurcsány, oppose the family tax relief,
- Christmas is supported by those who would give in to Brussels, open the way for migrants,
- Karácsony represents the opposition coalition, and would expand the power of Dobrev, Gyurcsány, and Márki-Zay.
A similar set of questions applied to the Prime Minister, the interviewer was curious as to whether, according to the respondent, Viktor Orbán
- preserves peace, keeps war away,
- stop illegal migration, protect borders,
- stands up for Hungary’s interests in Brussels,
- improves the economy, creates jobs,
- protects families and children,
or not. They asked about satisfaction with the Prime Minister and his performance in the “presidential pardon case”. There was also a question about whether the respondent had heard about the closure of the Orbán conference in Brussels, and whether this influenced him in supporting the ruling party.
When asked who is the stronger defender of family values, there were only three options to choose from:
- Viktor Orban,
- Ferenc Gyurcsány,
- Péter Magyar.
