In most parts of the country, we woke up to intense rain, the cyclone coming from the south fell on Wednesday morning, covering the sky above us with thick clouds. According to HungaroMet’s information, the precipitation system will reach everywhere, but mainly in the northwestern part of the country, so a first-degree alert is in effect in this region:
According to the information, it may exceed 20-25 mm in several places in the northwestern and western parts of Transdanubia and in the area of the Northern Central Mountains, as well as in the northern half of Pest County, and even 30 mm in the vicinity of the western border.
From the afternoon, the precipitation zone causing persistent rain weakens, and the rain is increasingly limited to the northern and northwestern half of the country, while the place of persistent rain in the Great Plain is replaced by thunderstorms. According to the warning, the westerly wind will strengthen in several directions, with stormy gusts of up to 80 km/h. The highest daytime temperature in Transdanubia, around Budapest and in the north will be 7 and 13, but in the Great Plain the thermometer will show much higher, up to 19 degrees.
