You could enter the competition only from Bács-Kiskun county in one category, ensemble category. The evaluation criteria were age-specific dance presentation, knowledge and presentation of motifs, motifs and aesthetic features characteristic of the given landscape unit, small landscape, village, (possibly the informant), and stylish movement. According to the regulation, the clothing and possibly the tools should reflect the characteristics of the given landscape or village.

The choreography, the fit of the dance content and the music was also a consideration in addition to the performer’s behavior. The classification was done by age group, gold, gold, silver, bronze and 4 special prizes were awarded in each category.

– From Gara, near Baja, we entered with two groups of mixed ages. With the children of Garai Aprók between 4 and 11 years old, and with the young people of Garai Nagyobbacskák between 11 and 17 years old. The competition was anonymous, the groups and the jury only received information about the title of the choreography and the age group classification before and during the competition. Renowned dance teachers sat on the jury: Lilla Farkas, Csaba Húsvéth and Zoltán Illés, said Zsolt Antal, head of the dance group.

Their achievements: Garai Székelykör Egyesület Small Children’s Folk Dance Group (Zsófia Huszárikné Böröcz-Márton Huszárik: Bukovina dances), group leaders: Zsófia Csófia and Zsolt Antal. Musical accompaniment: the Juhász band from Szatka. Special award: for the authentic presentation of the children’s performance and special gold rating. Garai Székelykör Egyesület Nagyobbacskák Children’s folk dance group: (Zsolt Kertész Hanga-Kővágó: Moldavian dances.) Musical accompaniment: the Keptár band from Pécs, special award: for folklore authenticity and special gold rating.

– It is a huge achievement and pride in the life of our association that both groups of children from our village earned a special gold rating and a special award for their performance. We thank all members of our community for their help, support, and work – Zsolt Antal added.
