The association supporting mayoral candidate Andrea Varga states in a statement that their organization does not collect donations for its community campaign over the phone, and they ask that if someone contacts the people of Miskolc on their behalf, they notify the authorities.
Fraudsters are abusing the name of the Függetlenek a Szinva Városaért Egyesület (Függetlenek SZIVE), who request bank account information from the people of Miskolc by phone, citing the campaign, the association announced on Tuesday morning.
– Today we were shocked to learn that unknown fraudsters are trying to obtain the bank account data of bona fide citizens of Miskolc by phone in the name of our mayoral candidate Andrea Klára Varga, referring to the “campaign”, they wrote.
They emphasize that the calls do not come from them, and that SZIVE of the Independents and its election allies certainly do not collect donations for their social campaign over the phone.
The people of Miskolc are asked to be careful and not to give any personal or bank account information to fraudsters.
– If you receive such a call, we recommend that you hang up the phone immediately and notify the authorities. The fight against fraudsters is our common responsibility – writes Függetlenek SZIVE, who asks that they inform their acquaintances about the fraud attempt so that no one becomes a victim.
