Hungary’s largest sustainability consulting team will be created after denkstatt becomes a member of the EY group. As a result, more than 60 highly qualified professionals are now helping domestic companies manage business challenges related to environmental protection, sustainability and climate change at EY.

In the future, the denkstattEY think tank brand name, as part of the EY sustainability team, he helps companies with his special expertise. In addition to our country, the transformation also took place in Austria, Bulgaria, Romania and Slovakia.

EY’s Climate Change and Sustainability consulting area and EY denkstatt are now fully able to facilitate the green transition in the following service areas, among others: sustainability reporting and certification; ESG and EHS management and legal compliance; climate change and decarbonization strategy making; environmental, technical and ESG due diligence supporting transactions; environmental and economic impact assessments, green building certification services, and introduction of digital ESG solutions in cooperation with EY’s global partners.

EY does all of this with a versatile team in which classic management consultants, tax consultants and auditors meet experts in the natural sciences and technical fields – including environmental engineers, environmental economists, occupational safety experts and geologists.

Psalter Kónyahead of EY Hungary’s Audit Department, added: “The importance of responsible, sustainable corporate operations has increased over the past few years, and the process is expected to continue in the coming years. This step clearly demonstrates EY’s commitment to providing the greatest possible support to our clients in meeting the increasingly strict regulatory requirements and supporting this extremely important matter with a high-quality audit of the sustainability report, which is now included in the scope of the financial audit.”

Attila Jeneithat is EY think tank sustainability partner pointed out that by joining the three-decade-old denkstatt, the customers of both companies can use an even wider range of services. “Merging the expertise and professional relationships of the two companies is a reasonable response to the current process in which the scientific reality of sustainability is increasingly being focused on by business decision-makers.”

Ákos Lukácspartner of EY’s Sustainability and Climate Change services, said that by unifying companies’ knowledge, their competences and capacities are significantly strengthened. “There can be no doubt that from now on we can answer any complex challenge related to environmental protection, sustainability and climate change for our customers, thereby significantly contributing to their green and sustainable growth and to understanding and acquiring their resilience to climate change.”

EY globally became carbon neutral in 2020 and carbon negative in 2021, its current goal is to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2025, to which EY Hungary also contributes.
